Our Peacock silk scarf is a design rich in detail, pattern and meanings, it is the national bird of India. It comes in this lovely stormy blue Shade with highlights of soft pink and silvery pastels.
A beautiful peacock appears on each corner, feathers explode outwards like a jeweled firework on opposite corners while in the adjacent corners the birds relax with their feathers down. Flowers and petals in soft pink shades crown the centre in a hallowed ring, coming outwards rope twists round, a symbol often appearing in dreams symbolising knowledge.
The Hamsa hand appears too, an ancient middle eastern amulet symbolising the hand of God, in all faith this is a protective sign, bringing luck happiness and good fortune.
More Indian references appear in the pattern in the background which is inspired by the mirror work from The Amber fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The design of the Peacock silk scarf was inspired during Rachel and Fumie's trip to Rajasthan, where they visited a sadu in the desert living by peacocks.
The Peacock silk scarf is made with 100% luxury silk fabric. The illustration digitally printed are hand drawn using mixed media and Japanese water colours and inspired by Rachel and Fumie's adventures together.
